Dear patients, 

Our office continues to monitor the ongoing situation with both the York Region and Toronto Public health offices as well as the Ministry of Health and the long-term care of Ontario. 

Based on the information provided, we have made the very difficult decision to restrict visits to our clinics via APPOINTMENTS ONLY for our patients. This will allow our team to ensure the safety of all our patients when visiting the clinic. 

What does this mean to you, our patient? 

  • If you need to see your Uptown Health Centre MD, please contact our office, as usual, you will be asked certain questions related to the COVID 19 outbreak as a screening process, post this, you will be able to schedule an appointment as usual. 

  • If your reason for a visit with the Doctor is related to any flu-related symptoms, you will be offered a telemedicine appointment. This will take place over the phone with your Doctor calling you at your scheduled time. 

  • If you have travelled anywhere in the last 14 days, please notify our staff when scheduling your appointment.

  1. Fever (T >38C), new cough or difficulty breathing (or a combination of these symptoms)?

  2. Muscle aches, fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose or diarrhea?

  3. Have you travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days?

  4. Does someone you are in close contact with have COVID-19 (for example, someone in your household or workplace)?

  5. Are you in close contact with a person who is sick with respiratory symptoms (for example, fever, cough or difficulty breathing) who recently travelled outside of Canada?


If you answered “yes” to the above screening questions please self-isolate at home and contact the local public health unit ( to decide on the most appropriate setting for testing if needed.
