Foot & Ankle Clinic

Our foot care services are provided by licensed chiropodists. Chiropodists are members of Chiropody College and are the only health care providers educated exclusively in the assessment and treatment of foot disorders. No physician referral is required in order to be seen by chiropodists.  We do charge for our services however majority of private insurance plans cover chiropodial foot care.

Routine foot care consists treatment of nails, corns, calluses.  During initial visit, if indicated biomechanical, circulatory and neurological assessment will be performed.  Depending on the foot presentation footwear advise is often part of proper chiropodial management.  Often patient is also advised on daily foot care and proper shoes. Routine foot care involves ongoing monitoring for any foot changes that could lead to increased risk of any potential foot problems like muscoskeletal injury, skin breakdown, infections etc. Usually patient is seen every 6 to 8 weeks for routine foot care.

 

Routine foot care is especially important for patients with Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, poor circulation, poor sensation (neuropathy), poor vision, thick-difficult to treat toenails, recurrent corns and calluses.
